Some of our Management team attended the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans annual conference to discuss Veteran homelessness and how we are doing our part to support Veterans in Florida that are suffering from homelessness. We’re committed to ending homelessness for the men and women of our region who served their county — and to helping all our veterans come “all the way home.”

Take a Moment Tuesday from our Chaplin Vanessa:
It seems that every time I wake up there is a notification on my phone with a tragedy that has happened somewhere in the world. Social media has become a space for people to express their opinions and thoughts, not that it’s bad, but it’s opened us up to judge even more, which ultimately separates us. Let’s not wait until something happens or someone says something to react, before reacting take a moment. Pray for what you may encounter, take a moment of silence for those suffering, and be grateful for what you do have; this moment.
On behalf of Volunteers of America of Florida we are praying for healing, comfort, and strength for all those suffering. And we pray for unity, peace, and love for all.

We distributed Mangos this morning in downtown St. Petersburg at Williams Park! The homeless loved them! What we discovered is the homeless individuals normally receive canned goods but not a lot of fresh fruit! So happy we could start their #Monday off healthy!
