Wow! One year ago #VOAFL began distributing over $250,000 worth of furniture to families affected by the hurricanes in Florida Keys & Key West, Florida thanks to Caracole. This was an incredible event that touched so many lives and wouldn't have been possible had it not been for SOS Foundation, The Home Depot, Ocean Reef Community Foundation, Volunteers of America and many more!

Happy Easter!
Please enjoy a prayer from Vanessa Peña, Director of Ministry Development at Volunteers of America

We thank you for today, Easter! Thank you for walking with us in darkness, for kneeling with us when we are weak, and for providing when we are unable to provide for ourselves. God, may we continue to carry the joy of Easter and sing the rejoicing songs throughout the rest of our days.

Blessed are those to whom Easter is not a hunt but a find, not a greeting but a proclamation, not outward fashion but inward grace, not a day but an eternity. – A. Oliveria

We give thanks to you Lord for all the marvelous blessings you bestow on us, each and every day, especially today.

5 Veterans from #VOAFL Punta Gorda Veterans Village enjoyed a day on the water thanks to various captains and crew that volunteered their time. This is the fifth year the WAVE event has taken place and we are grateful for everyone involved. What a wonderful way to give Veterans a moment of serenity on the open water.

Happy Passover to all of our Jewish friends!

For those who don’t know, the eight-day festival of Passover is celebrated in the early spring, from the 19th through the 27th of the Hebrew month of Nissan (April 19–27, 2019). It commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. It is observed by avoiding leaven, and highlighted by the Seder meals that include four cups of wine, eating matzah and bitter herbs, and retelling the story of the Exodus.
